Rode on

Wind in my hair

Breakneck speed

No yesterday & tomorrow

No promises to keep

For the ones that were kept

Went unnoticed

& the ones that should have held theirs

Are now gone

So, I rode on

Through the narrow, curvy roads

To the wide & crowded 6 lanes

Through the broken, quiet towns

To the hilly, expansive terrains

I am here cause I realised there is no other way

There is no escape

& the only thing that can be controlled

Is this bike’s accelerator & brakes

That I can call my own

My home

So, I rode on

For the monotonous can wait

The hamster’s wheel can be climbed again

But this moment won’t come back

This age won’t wait

She can be in my arms again

If she wants to stay

The sound of that crisp pink note

Can be heard again

Even if I spend it all today

Perspective

Realisation

Initiative

Inaugration

This ain’t the end

It ain’t my swan song

So, I rode on

Where am i going?

I don’t know

As long as the road

Takes me along

The different views

I consider life

The melancholy in my memories

& the fireflies at night

My hair in the wind

& the gum in my mouth

The heat in my jacket

& the fireflies’ sound

I consider mine

Mine to keep

So, I decide not to sleep

& stare the night away

To the ground

I ain’t sure when I come around

But if you are there waiting

I won’t take long

But till then

I ride on
