Rise

Drinking from broken glass

Living on hardened stones

Ignited by the fascist fires

Burning bodies, souls & bones

Times they change yet stay the same

Oppressor & oppressed

A debt that shall be paid with interest

Breaking the King’s chest

Mother, I’ll be late for dinner

Will just chew on broken thorns

Drinking the ocean’s blackened blue

The journey to get home is home

Surrender is the actual death

To the already dead, hate is lust

A martyr’s end & a rebel’s beginning

The war for the just

Rise across the land

Forever & beyond

Break the chains of prejudice

And fight till the break of dawn

A new world we shall create

Far removed from this hate

Empty slogans that don’t rejuvenate

& are just a coward’s bait

Look at the new horizon

Smell the revolution

Flags of singular colors

Whether saffron or green

Crumbling to the Constitution

Clenched fists against the tyranny

Rising with a finger raised

A child’s future, a woman’s thoughts

All dreams bright and ablaze
