i just stuck by mine.

through the thick and thin of it

you distill the essence of me and all you will find is the reality of always me being me

when i found the shoe that fit i stuck to it even when it was worn out and old

the people that did not have my back while i had theirs’ is also fine to me because that is them; it is harder to be me: which is why i always have my hand out, ready to accept and cheer on a come back story.

ready to break bread and have a laugh while sipping on some coffee and sharing stories

i through it all was me: ever evolving but never changing

because i could never betray me and the me never allowed me to betray anyone else.

the fact of the matter is there is a lot of work to be done; a lot of backs to be scratched and i know how the game works and i understand what is required to be done but there will be respect given and received and there will be a moral compass consisting of strong values and a fight for the right for which i am ready to fall down cause i will always rise up

to anyone in this country of mine, that i love more than anything else, where someone that works hard, raises their children well, and are law abiding citizens that just want certain unalienable standards of living that are their fundamental rights like access to education, clean water and law and order where they, their children and the women in this society can roam the streets without fear and with their heads held high where they get their share of dignity and equity of pay and opportunity; i will never sleep and work night and day till the people, irrespective of their gender, caste, creed, color and religion get the aforementioned rights and opportunities.

and everyday is practice: everyday is me putting in the work; learning; living; and improving.

we will never be perfect: but we will get as close as possible to it

heart.

passion.

soul.

love.

friendship.

this is what it was always about.

rage will never win.

we shall enter the day we dreamed of.

where we dance, love, laugh and kiss.

all we need is a smile.

all we need is a conversation.

all we need is a dialogue.

all we need is love.
